The Renovator's House Tour was created by three Capitol Hill moms in 2001 as a fundraiser for their childrens' neighborhood public school, the Capitol Hill Cluster School. As home renovators in an historic neighborhood, their idea was to showcase houses that were not necessarily perfect but definitely interesting. That first year, nearly 1000 people flocked to the new event, raising over $20,000. Since then, the tour has raised more than $200,000 in critically-needed funds for the Cluster School, supporting a variety of education initiatives, from new classroom technology to arts programming.
In 2009, the Renovator's House Tour continues its tradition of opening unique homes to the public and provides real solutions for real families working with real budgets. Taking notes is highly encouraged!
